FAQ

  • What is HIIT training?

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. It includes short bursts of intense exercise with brief rest periods. Movements can be scaled for any fitness level, making HIIT an efficient and effective training option for anyone looking to improve overall fitness.

  • What are the benefits of HIIT training?

HIIT workouts boost heart health, lowers blood pressure, and ramps up calorie burn for faster fat loss. Because it uses compound movements—like squat thrusters and renegade rows—it works multiple muscle groups at once for full-body strength and toning. The intense work-to-rest intervals also prevent plateaus by constantly challenging your body. Plus, HIIT creates an “afterburn effect” (EPOC), meaning you continue burning calories even after the workout ends.

  • What is Hybrid Athlete Training

Hybrid Athlete Training is a versatile approach that combines strength and endurance training to create well-rounded fitness. This method boosts performance, builds versatility, and enhances overall health. The goal is versatility and balance, not one-dimensional specialization.

  • How long are the workouts?

Our workouts are around 45 minutes long. That includes stretching and a brief warm up. While we recommend staying for a cool down session, it is not included in the 45 minute time frame.

  • Will Persist Training make me look bulky?

No—HIIT and Hybrid Training will not make you look bulky. You have the choice to pick your weights for the high-intensity movements that build lean muscle, boost metabolism, and burn fat. The focus is strength, endurance, and overall conditioning, which creates a toned, athletic look rather than added bulk.

  • Can I build muscle mass at Persist Training?

Yes, our workouts can be modified and adjusted for your personal fitness goals. We can adjust the programs for those that want to focus on muscle mass with lower rep ranges, more rest between heavy sets. This includes super sets, higher volume lifts, and progressive overload across the program.

  • Is this a Crossfit style gym?

No—Persist Training is not a CrossFit gym. We use a HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) format focused on timed intervals, functional movements, and accessible strength training. Our workouts are designed to be challenging, scalable, and safe for all fitness levels without the technical Olympic lifting or competitive structure typically found in CrossFit.

  • Can I do HIIT and Hybrid Athlete Training if I am recovering from an injury?

Yes—HIIT and Hybrid Athlete Training can be done while recovering from an injury, but it should be approached carefully. At Persist Training, every movement can be modified to reduce impact, avoid painful ranges of motion, and match your current ability level. Always let your coach know about your injury so we can tailor the workout to keep you moving safely. If your doctor or physical therapist has given specific guidelines, we’ll work within those, too.
